Hearing Assessment

Support and Hearing Assessments

Even when wearing hearing aids, your hearing can change over time. During your aftercare appointment, we will reassess your hearing and make any adjustments required to your hearing aids to ensure you are getting the most out of them. We will also provide a clean and check up on your hearing aids to give you peace of mind that they are working to maximum efficiency.

Your Hearing Assessment Journey

What happens during our assessments?

Hearing changes can be so subtle and happen at any age. It can take some time to be aware of your hearing loss. If you find yourself feeling isolated and avoiding situations that you used to enjoy or finding telephone conversations hard work; then you will find it surprisingly easy to resolve.

Hearing loss can affect anyone and is often ignored as people continue to struggle with daily life before taking action. It can take 7 to 10 years before someone with hearing loss seeks treatment. Yet regular hearing assessments would help you stay connected to the world and all its enjoyment.

Clinical Environment & Hearing Assessment Process

We offer a relaxed and comfortable, clinically hygienic environment. We conduct a full diagnostic hearing assessment from our modern treatment room. We use state of the art technology along with a comfortable and spacious soundproof booth to deliver the most accurate results possible. Hearing tests are completely painless and non-invasive.

We will discuss your medical history, lifestyle and any hearing difficulties you feel you may have that is impacting on your daily life.

We conduct a full ear examination and video otoscopy to check the health of your outer ear, ear canals and eardrum.

Hearing Assessment Results

The results of your hearing assessment will be explained on an audiogram (as shown below),  this will demonstrate your own unique hearing pattern. We will discuss the findings thoroughly and recommend any kind of treatment if necessary. Sometimes, a sense of hearing loss may be caused by an infection or ear wax which will be highlighted during the test. If that is the case, we can help with the process to resolve the hearing issue.

If the hearing test highlights a hearing loss, we will make recommendations and discuss the options for treatment.
